It is easy to go through the motions of faith, showing up and checking boxes without truly building your life on Jesus. In First Corinthians 10, Paul points the Corinthians back to the history of Israel as a warning. Every Israelite experienced God's miraculous power, and yet many of them coasted, letting idolatry, immorality, entitlement, and grumbling quietly take root. The same dangers are present today, showing up not in church services but in the relaxed and unguarded moments of ordinary life. Paul's answer is not condemnation but a call to honest self-awareness and community. God is faithful, and He always provides a way through temptation, but we are meant to walk that path together. The question worth sitting with is simple: are you building your life on Jesus, or are you carving out a comfortable existence and hoping He approves of it?
